Um I love these two – have for years. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Brent for many years having met him back in my bartending days at IU when I was working at Yogi’s and he was running Bluebird. Let’s just say we’ve had a few beers together over the years. He’s always been the nicest guy and I knew he would end up with a lucky lady…. aka Lindsay. What an amazing girl – always a blast to hang out and I couldn’t be more excited when I heard they were engaged. That is until they called me about doing their engagement photos back in Bloomington. Of course I jumped at the chance – especially fun because they moved to St. Louis and I hadn’t seen them forever.
Here are some of my favorites… fall in Bloomington… it doesn’t get better 🙂 A special thanks to Mary for being my “assistant” for the day! Congrats!

And then it was off to the Bluebird and some areas that are more frequented by bums than newly engaged couples. Thanks for enduring the broken beer bottles for these shots!

Weird to see people sitting on this bench that aren’t drunk and eating Rockit’s pizza at 3am…. haha

I’d say they’ve had a few drinks at this bar…..

And last but not least a little fun in the leaves with Maggie 🙂

It’s assumed that the summer is going to be hot, but it seems that this year has been unbearable and shows no signs of letting up. I met up with Brittany and Clayton on an evening in August that turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year. When I say it was hot I mean it was so hot it felt like your skin was going to melt right off! So naturally we had decided on a shoot outside at Chateau de Pique in Seymour, IN. The area is gorgeous – the vineyards are surrounded by open country and cornfields, but left us in the directly sun for most of the shoot.
I have to give props to Brittany and Clayton for battling the heat. From the looks of these photos you would never know they were as miserable as I’m sure they were in the heat. I tried to soften the blow by bringing a bottle of wine from the winery … it was the least I could do.
Enjoy the photos – some of my favorites! Can’t wait for their wedding next month!

I can’t tell you how pumped I am about meeting this couple and getting to photograph them. I first met them at the Perfect Wedding Guide show back in January and then we met up again for coffee and I quickly realized how much we had in common. For starters they are both IU grads (go hoosiers!) so naturally it was our destination for engagement photos. They also used to hangout at Yogi’s where I worked through college and they go to the Indy 500 every year! I think if we had been at IU at the same time we might have been best friends!
I met Emily and Brian down in Bloomington and strolled around campus telling stories about our IU days and stopping at some campus landmarks along the way. We had gorgeous weather for it – great sky day 🙂
Then it was off to Nick’s for a few final pics and some delicious burgers and beers. If you guys are reading this – thanks so much for the great shoot and I can’t wait for your November wedding!
On with the pictures!
