Meet Becky

Hey I'm Becky! If you've found yourself on this page you've probably seen some of my photos and wanted to know more.

So here is a little bit about me!

I am originally from Indiana and attended Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!). I've been living in Chicago for the last 6 years and have been photographing weddings for 12 years (what?! 12 years?!).  I'm addicted to cherry chapstick, and love to cook despite having Crohn's and having some super weird dietary restrictions. I love to travel and am pretty sure I was meant to live in New Zealand.

For the past 6 years I've focused more on tiny intimate weddings and elopements. I even started a new site in 2014 called Elope to Chicago decided weekday weddings and elopements. I have put together a dream team of fellow vendors to create mini packages for those. If you're interested check it out at Elope to Chicago

This is the part of the about me page that you'll see nearly every photographer mention how they love photographing people in love and every love story is unique and so on and so forth. But I'm going to spare you that because after 10 years I'd say it's pretty obvious that I enjoy photographing weddings, or I wouldn't still be doing them.

If you've found yourself here chances are it's because you aren't interested in a "traditional" wedding. And neither am I. My favorite weddings are ones that truly express the couple and their interests. They are weddings where at the end of the day I leave thinking "Damn that was fun! I don't want to leave!" And that feeling usually comes because the couple themselves is having a blast. They are doing what they want to do for their wedding day. Whether that's a big bash, an intimate backyard wedding or an elopement with just the two of them, they aren't doing things just because that is what a wedding is "supposed" to be.

I'm looking for couples that want to bend and break the rules. Trust me, you don't have to do a bouquet toss if you don't want to. Your only single friend will thank you for sparing them.  You can get married on Thursday with 20 people and then hit up a Blackhawks game as your reception. You can sail down the Chicago river on a yacht while saying I do. You can fly out to your favorite destination and get married on the side of a mountain if you want! The sky is the limit!

If you read this and it sounds like you than please contact me for more information! I'm happy to travel as well!

My Process

From the moment you contact me to the moment I hand you your photos, I'm all in. I've spent 12 years building this business and I can honestly say that my years in customer service may have helped me more than my years spent learning photography.

Planning a wedding can be stressful, but it doesn't have to be. I'm here to help with suggestions on everything from photo locations, to the best time of day for light, to who you should hire for hair and makeup and more. As cheesey as it is to say, I'm more than just a photographer.

I'm not some big studio who is just cranking out wedding photos. I'm a person who wants to get to know you and capture photos that are true to you as a couple. I want you to look at the images and be able to transport yourself back to that moment, that place, that time. And if needed, I can bustle a dress and pin a boutonniere like a pro!
