It’s wedding season!!!! I couldn’t wait to kick off the year by shooting a wedding in my hometown with Amber and Joe. It was like going to a high school reunion, but more fun I suspect. It was great to see so many familiar faces and get to catch up with people.
I met the girls at Rumors salon for hair and makeup before heading to the church to shoot details. And the details were amazing 🙂 Amber and friends and family did a lot of the work themselves and pulled off the peacock theme and colors beautifully. Her pin bouquet made of pins from family members was stunning. I can only imagine that her arms were sore in the morning from holding it though as it was the heaviest bouquet I’ve ever seen!
After seperate shoot with the guys and the girls it was ceremony time. You know you’ve picked a keeper when they go in for the first kiss 3 times!
From there it was off to Seymour to the Pines for the reception. I haven’t been to the Pines since our Top 20 dinner in high school so it was surreal to be back there with alot of my fellow classmates!
Congratulations to Amber and Joe!
Ceremony Venue: First Baptist Church – North Vernon, In
Reception Venue: The Pines – Seymour, IN
Hair & Makeup : Rumors Salon – North Vernon, IN

These two might be the cutest flower girls ever. I mean matching outfits at the salon?! Love it!
Hey Pat! I started laughing to myself went I was editing because I don’t even remember shooting this, but apparently I wasn’t being as ninja as I thought because I was spotted! haha
Since this has been the winter that just won’t end we kept pushing back Mary and Kepha session in hopes that by mid March we’d see some warmth….we were wrong. Although there were a day here or there that brought home the day of their session was in the 30’s and some very light snow was on the ground from ealier in the day.
They were troopers in the cold as we explored downtown Chicago along the riverwalk. Luckily we were able to sneak inside for few to warm up for a bit as well! Fingers crossed that their September wedding brings much warmer temps!
Here are some of my favorites from their session – can’t wait until their wedding!
So technically my 6 year business anniversary is tomorrow, but since it’s Easter weekend and I’ll be driving home I’m going to go ahead and post this today.
Last year at this time I wrote an insanely long post recapping the first five years of business (you can see that HERE) so I promise to keep it shorter this time. I went back and looked through all the weddings from this year and all the facebook posts etc. and got a little emotional, but since I already did my whole series of Favorites from 2013 I won’t go back through all that. This post is really to announce my the launch of my new site!
Over the last couple of years I’ve been forming this idea in my head of starting a second site that is just dedicated to elopements and smaller weekday weddings. After shooting a few of these weddings I was hooked. Don’t get me wrong I still love a big blowout wedding, but there is something so simple and intimate about a wedding of 20 people on a Thursday.
So after much labor, planning, frustrations, joys and tax forms and phone calls to government agencies I’m happy to announce that:
a) I’m now an LLC – Becky Brown Enterprises LLC to be exact and
b) the idea has become a reality and www.elopetochicago.com is born!
It is still a work in progress and I’m teaming up with amazing local vendors to create simple packages to make the planning process even easier. If you’re a vendor or venue that is interested in catering to weekday couples contact me!
Right now I will only be offering these services for Monday- Friday weddings of 50 people or less. My Saturdays are still reserved for larger weddings 🙂
And now for my thank you’s…..
