Associate Wedding: Jenn and Brian – Indianapolis, IN : 9/29/12

Welcome to Jenn and Brian’s most excellent wedding! My wonderful associate Allie shot this wedding in Indianapolis at the super cool Speakeasy. I had never heard of this venue for a wedding as it’s usually a members only place. I love the urban vibe and feel of the venue. And it’s in the heart of Broad Ripple!

Jenn and Brian kept things low key with just two members of their wedding party and Brian’s three boys joining in the fun.

Here are some of my favorites from their big day!

** If you’re getting married in Indianapolis or southern Indiana in 2013 keep in mind that Allie is available to shoot in addition to me!  Contact me for more info – becky@beckybrownphotograpy.com**

Wedding: Becca and Mike – Chicago, IL 9/28/12

Becca and Mike were married on a gorgeous Friday in Fall at Loft on Lake in their west loop neighborhood.  I’ve been so excited about this wedding as I knew Becca was going for a classic romantic theme and boy did she deliver! From her stunning lace gown, to the soft golden glow of the candles at the reception it was the perfect mix of classic and modern.

I met the girls at the hotel after hair and makeup for some finishing touches. From there it was off on the trolley to meet the boys for the first look and some shots around the city.

They had both the ceremony and reception at Loft on Lake so while they were flipping the room the guests enjoyed cocktail hour and we snuck out for the last few minutes of daylight near the Board of Trades.

All in all it was an amazing day. The only thing I would change is how short I am! Mike is the tallest groom I’ve ever had so my step stool got a workout that day! Congrat to Becca and Mike. Here are a few of my favorites from their big day.

And this is why I love doing a First look 🙂

LOVE this pic of Becca… it just makes me smile 🙂

And now prepare to meet 2 of the cutest flower girls you will ever see in your life 🙂

A brief trolley ride later…

And back for the reception! One of Becca’s bridesmaids made this amazing escort card frame for her!

Partytime!

It’s not a wedding until Dave and Mark show up….. don’t worry you’ll be seeing them again in Suzy and Pierick’s blog post!

If I can I always try to sneak my couple outside for some night photos. In this case we were right under the L tracks – it doesn’t get much more Chicago than that! Thanks to my previous bride Emily for being my lighting assistant for these shots! Warning to all my brides, I might put you to work if your a guest at a wedding I’m shooting! haha

And last but not least me and the happy couple!  Thanks to Mike for going into a deep squat for this photo so I didn’t look like I was 3 ft tall!

Wedding: Lynn and Bill – 9/15/12 Columbus, IN

I’m not sure where to even begin talking about how amazing these two people are. Don’t get me wrong- I love all my couples, but this wedding and their love story had me in tears a couple of times! I first met Bill and Lynn at the Columbus Republic Bridal Show. Bill and I instantly bonded over our love of Macs since he had just gotten the newest iPad and I was super jealous.  I wasn’t sure if I would hear from them again, as they were older than my average couple. But I hoped that I would because I like them right away. I was lucky enough to get a call from them a couple months later  about shooting their wedding and I could tell instantly that this was going to be one I’d never forget.

I met up with them in May for their engagement session (you can see that HERE). Afterwards we headed to Zwanzig’s for some pizza and to chat about the wedding. And so begins the emotions…. Bill told me the story of how he met Lynn after being in a car accident. She was his physical therapist and quickly became much more than that. He told me the story of how he proposed to her and it brought me to tears in the restaurant. I left there and thought to myself – this is what love is and I am so unbelievably lucky to be shooting this wedding. This is the reason I do what I do.

I know I’m getting a little mushy on you guys, but I can’t help it. I partially blame Bill because he is an emotional guy and I can’t see a grown man cry and not cry myself! They got married on a gorgeous September afternoon at First Christian Church in Columbus. And true to form – it was an emotional one. I LOVE this church. It has such amazing light. We traveled around town for some photos before heading off to the reception in Hope to celebrate with their guests.

I was truly honored to be able to capture this wedding. I can only hope that I can find half of the happiness that these two have in their relationship 🙂

Here are some of my favorites from the day!

Then it was First Look time 🙂

My favorite of the day 🙂

Then it was ceremony time 🙂

Ok I lied – this might be my favorite image of the day

Loved the reception entrance they did. I’d never seen these rice puffs before, but they were in the shape of hearts and safe for the birds – win, win!
