As 2009 comes to and end I decided I would do my own version yearly recap. I always leave each shoot or event having a couple of images in mind that are standouts to me. They aren’t always the clients favorites, or ones I post, but they are my favorites. I was going to just do my top 25, but after looking back i realized that would be way to hard so I decided to break it down into categories …
First up are engagement photos, which are my favorite sessions to do. I love capturing the love between couples and these sessions truly do that. They allow them to just be themselves and have fun without distractions. They allow you to go to locations that represent the two of you or places that have been special during your relationships and allow me to get to know the couples before the big day.
So here they are, in no particular order, MY favorite engagement shots of 2009:

Becca and I go way back to the days of SCIVA volleyball when were 11 or 12. We spent a few summers together traveling all over, playing volleyball, hanging out in gyms, and doing countless tuck jumps! I was so thrilled to hear from her about her upcoming wedding. It was great to see her and catch up as well as meet her husband to be, Phil.
In the brief time I got to spend with the two of them I can tell they are completely in love. We met up at Butler University, where they both attended college. It was a beautiful fall day so we took advantage by wandering all over campus. I have a new respect for Becca, who wore about 3in heels the whole time – she’s a trooper. I can’t for their wedding next June. Congratulations both of you!

Butler is such a gorgeous campus – so many great buildings and beautiful landscaping… it’s always been one of my favorites.

My sister is getting married!!!! This session was extra special for me since it was my one and only sister Sarah and her fiance Joshua.
They met while working together at Cummins and got engaged in March. It took several months of me pestering them to finally shoot these photos – that’s what sisters are for 🙂
We decided to stay around the Tipton Lakes area for the pics. As you will see when you scroll down they are a gorgeous couple (ok I might be a little biased) and it was a beautiful fall day. I can’t wait for their wedding in May in which I will be the Maid of Honor.
Congrats you guys!! I love you!!

We always joke that we’re not sure how these two ended up together based on their magazine and tv choices they seem like complete opposites. So Sarah wanted to incorporate the magazines into the photos. Sarah with her InStyle and Joshua with his Economist.
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the cover of his most recent copy of The Economist…. classic… scroll down…

There are several of these tunnels around Tipton to connect the walking trails. I’ve been wanting to attempt this shot for awhile now – thanks for letting me test it out. I’m pretty happy about how it turned out.

Congrats again to Sarah and Joshua!!
