Intercontinental Chicago Wedding: Ashley + David 11/12/16

Meet Ashley & David! They married at the gorgeous Intercon hotel in downtown Chicago. We were super lucky to get a gorgeous November day for their wedding.

I met the girls for getting ready, while my second photographer Renae hung out with the guys. After a quick first look we headed out to Michigan Ave. for photos. This was a wild day to be downtown! In the hour we were outside we saw protesters, police, street performers and crews putting up the Christmas decorations! They took it all in stride though as we worked around the crowds and tourists for photos.

They said their I do’s in the gorgeous ballroom surrounded by friends and family. Ashley’s dad wins the balance award for the day as he stepped on her veil after giving her away, but caught himself before a fall (see photo below)! After cocktails guest reentered the transformed room for dinner, toasts and dancing the night away.

Congrats again to the newlyweds! Here are some of my favorites!

Indiana University Fall Wedding : Jenn + Alex 11/5/16

The campus at IU is one of the most beautiful in the county and in the fall it’s at it’s prime. As an IU alumni I am always looking for a reason to get back to Bloomington and luckily when Jenn and Alex got engaged I got a reason! You may remember them from their Dallas engagement session (See that HERE).

I played volleyball with Alex back in our college days and when he and Jenn decided to get married, Bloomington became the obvious choice for these two alumni!

I met the ladies at the IMU where they were getting ready in their adorable matching plaid, while my second photographer Erika met up with the guys. This will forever be one of my favorite first looks! We wanted to meet up at Sample Gates, which can be a very busy area for foot traffic. I sent Erika and the guys ahead to try to detour the crowds around the middle so we could try not to have a ton of people in the background. Mission accomplished! Alex’s face when he saw his bride for the first time was priceless!

After strolling around campus taking in all the gorgeous fall colors we headed back to Alumni Hall for their ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The dance floor was PACKED until the very last song! It was so much fun to see some familiar faces from my college days! We ended the evening with sparklers and a night shot on Kirkwood as they headed off to the after party at Nicks!

Here are some (ok a lot) of my favorites! Congrats to the newlyweds!

Fall Wedding at Hilton Rosemont : Amanda + Alex 10/15/16

Meet Amanda and Alex! You may remember them from their winter engagement session (see that HERE).

I was so excited for this wedding because they are amazing, fun couple who are heads over heels for each other! I knew it would awesome day and it did not disappoint! I met the girls at the Hilton Rosemont while my second shooter Sami went to hang out with the guys for a bit. After a quick first look we were off for photos!

For some reason our first location was like a giant wind tunnel. I mean crazy crazy wind! We almost packed it in and went back to the hotel as the girls had hair flying everywhere! Thankfully the second stop was the exact opposite. The tree coverage managed to block the wind enough that it was barely noticable. We had some great fall color and everyone breathed a big sigh of relief to not have to battle the wind!

Their ceremony was heartfelt and lovely all around. Their vows brought tears to my eyes and you can tell by the way they never took their eyes off each other just how in love they are.

Post ceremony it was time to party! Dances, drinks and toasts keep everyone smiling and laughing throughout the night. Amanda did a quick dress change before hitting the dance floor for the hora!

Congrats to the newlyweds. Here are some highlights and favorites!
