Wow I’m behind on my blogging…. things have been super busy… …. now on to the super amazing wedding of MaryAnn and Dennis.
I first met Mary Ann at the Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show in January. I had the pleasure of sitting down with her and her mother for coffee to talk about the big day. I was immediately excited when I found out she was having her recpetion at the Ritz Charles. I had second shot a wedding indoors there years ago and have always wanted to shoot one in the Garden Pavilion there….. wish granted!!
Mary Ann and Dennis met in school at DePauw, so they wanted to get married in Greencastle and do some shots on campus as well. I’m not going to lie I was a nervous wreck about all the travel involved (hair in Carmel, ceremony in Greencastle and reception back in Carmel). But the day went pretty smoothly and my assistant (and wonderful cousin) Heather was a huge help in keeping my sanity and covering the event.
We met the girls at Salon 01 in Carmel for hair. Can I say how much I love this place? Great space and colors and tons of stylists.
Then it was off to Greencastle for the ceremony at Cornerstone Baptist Church, following by formal portraits and the biggest family photo I’ve done at a wedding. But everyone (both families) was amazing. They were so welcoming and easy to work with ….. not to mention a blast to at the reception with some traditional Greek dances (Dennis is Greek).
We stopped off at campus before heading on to the reception. It was very apparent that Mary Ann and Dennis are surrounded by people that love and support them. There were several toasts given throughout the night and a couple of them about brought me to tears. The dance floor was packed most of the night… think hula hoops, the village people, and glow sticks! (scroll to the bottom to see what I’m talking about)
Congrats to Mary Ann and Dennis! Thank you to you and your families for allowing me to be a part of your day!

Are these two adorable or what? All day long they looked like they were up to something whispering to each other and running around…

Still not sure what these woven egg things on campus are, but I like them…

And on to the reception… first up some of the great details and delicious food…. love the cake topper (salt and pepper shaker) Dennis made it himself!

Time to cut the cake… the flower girl wanted in on the action. I can’t blame her- who doesn’t like cake?!

We snuck outside for a couple of shots…

And some shots from all the amazing toasts given throughout the night, and take note that the flower girl finally got her piece of cake 🙂

Last week I had the pleasure of heading down to Fourwind Resort in Bloomington (you may remember this site from Ashley’s and Tyler’s wedding on a previous post) for a fun family shoot on Lake Monroe. I’ve know Chris for a couple years now through mutual friends, but this was the first time I had the chance to meet his kiddos and amazing girlfriend and her son.
We lucked out and the rain held off for the shoot and it turned out to be a great evening. The kids were great! They were fun and patient enough to let me get in the shots I wanted before they all took off to get in the lake – clothes and all!
Thanks Chris and Alice for allowing me to spend the evening with you and your children – they were a blast!
