To say I had been looking forward to this wedding for a long time would be an understatement! Sarah and Zach hired me over a year away from their wedding after I had met them when their friend Elaine and Joe married in 2016. So I knew I’d get to see some familiar faces!
I met the ladies at the hotel while Carrie headed to the church with the guys. I love a church that is a little more lax on their rules. We rarely get the viewpoint from the altar, but thanks to them allowing us to sneak into the side room we were able to get some angles we never get a church weddings (shout out to Queen of All Saints!).
From there it was off to photo time at Friendship park before heading to the reception at Hilton Northbrook. I LOVED their cake and custom made table signs. It’s good to have talented friends! Lots of laughs and a few tears were had during toasts, but then it was time to dance the night away!
Congrats again to Sarah and Zach. It was an honor to capture your wedding day!

I’ve done many many weddings over the years and I have to say without a doubt this group of people was one of the nicest I’ve ever worked with. Leading up to the wedding we had only spoke on the phone and via email, but from the second Allison arrived it seemed like I had known her forever. Their families were fantastic. Their entire wedding party was fantastic. Usually there is always one person (or knucklehead as my uncles would say) that loves to give me a hard time and make stupid faces or not pay attention for very brief time that I need them to focus for photos. Not this group. They all get gold stars!
Alison and Kevin married at Levere Memorial Temple in Evanston which is owned by SAE fraternity. It was gorgeous, despite being one of the darkest churches I’ve ever worked in my life. The wrap around balcony made up for it though as I got some angles I usually never get at a church! They said their I do’s and were all smiles as guests greeted them outside.
We did some photos on the temple grounds which was gorgeous and then headed over to the Lakefill at Northwestern for some photos. I swear it dropped 15 degrees from the church to the lake, but they were troopers and we managed to beat out the looming rain that started later. Off to Valley Lo we went! I rode with the wedding party which I haven’t done in awhile as I’m usually the one driving and my assistant mans the party bus so it was fun for me. As you’re looking at the photos I’d like to point out that many of them where while rocking out to Miley Cyrus – Party in the USA haha.
Cocktails were had, intros were made and we headed in to start toasts and dancing. The floor was jam packed, but I did manage to sneak them out for a couple of quick photos when I realized it was raining again. Just ignore that photo of me at the end as I had definitely been out in the rain setting up lights right before and I’m soaked.
Congrats to the newlyweds! Here are some highlights!

A turkey walked into an engagement session……
I won’t even try to make that into a joke, because it actually happened. I met Beth and Tyler at Cantigny Park on a hot and humid morning in August. We had been going through a crazy heat wave so we decided to head out early to beat the heat and the crowds.
It was definitely the right move as we practically had the place to ourselves. There was a really cool fog hanging around. And then all of a sudden – Turkeys.
A whole pack of wild turkeys just strolling around! I’ve been out there many times and had never seen that. And they were huge! We tried to avoid them, but I kept looking over my shoulder waiting for an attack lol. Thankfully we made it out without any incidents.
Here are some of my favorites! I can’t wait for their wedding later this year!
