As 2009 comes to and end I decided I would do my own version yearly recap. I always leave each shoot or event having a couple of images in mind that are standouts to me. They aren’t always the clients favorites, or ones I post, but they are my favorites. I was going to just do my top 25, but after looking back i realized that would be way to hard so I decided to break it down into categories …
To end 2009 I wanted to post my favorites from the weddings I’ve shot this year. I’ve had the chance to work with so many great couples and be a part of their wedding. I can’t tell you how much I love to shoot weddings. From the second I arrive I’m always caught up in the moment… by the time the wedding rolls around I like to think of my couples more as friends than clients. Usually I’ve had the chance to sit down a few times with them and have shot their engagement photos. I’ve heard the stories of how they met and really experienced first hand how much in love they are. I can’t lie, I’ve found myself tearing up during some of the vows (I usually try to hid behind my camera so no one knows haha).
Weddings are planned so far in advance and so many details go into this one day that I really try to capture everything and let my photos tell a story of the day. Everything from the hair, the dress, the emotions, the cake etc is important to capture.
Thanks to all my 2009 brides for allowing me to be a part of your big day. I can’t wait for 2010 and all the amazing couples and weddings! Here’s the link to the post I did on the upcoming bridal shows for my bride-to be’s out there!
Here are my favorites! Happy New Year!

Natalie and Drew are such an awesome couple. I shot their engagement photos back in May, which you can see them here and here.
I was starting to get worried about their big day when I looked at the weather and it said 49 and rain. Luckily things turned our way and it was a gorgeous fall day. With the leaves changing and sun shining it was the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding.
Natalie gets a gold star for organization! Everyone was on time and things when so smoothly. Thank you to everyone involved – we had an awesome time and it was a pleasure to meet all of you.
Natalie and Drew – Congratulations and thanks again for allowing me to be a part of your day! Now for the pictures….

One of my favorites of the day – I always love when I get some alone time with just the Bride and Groom after the ceremony. Lets them be themselves and relax.

Natalie and Drew rode in this awesome vintage car from the ceremony to the reception.

On to the reception and the couple’s first dance as husband and wife.

And for some fun reception shots…. take note of the granny panties Drew pulled out from under dress instead of the garter – hilarious.

Last but not least here’s one of me with the bride and groom. Note to self – take this earlier in the day, not at the end of the night.
And no, I didn’t know that purple was the wedding color when I picked out this shirt haha. Congrats again!!

I was introduced to Kristin through my roommate Lindsey (thanks!) who used to work with her. From the first time I met her I had my fingers crossed that I would get to shoot their wedding. They are an awesome laid back couple and a blast to be around. I shot their engagement pictures downtown at the canal in the spring and I’ve been looking forward to the big day ever since. Kristin and Derek got married on a gorgeous fall day under the trees at Martha’s Orchard. They chose to embrace the spirit of fall by incorporating it into the wedding. From the orange dresses the bridesmaids wore, to the homemade pies instead of traditional cake – everything about their day added to the great autumn feel of the location.
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved the site they chose for the wedding. Martha’s Orchard (www.marthasorchard.net) is a family owned business which, to my surprise, no longer produces apples. They instead have a pumpkin patch and make homemade fudge while hosting a variety of events on their property. There were so many gorgeous spots that I could have stayed there forever.. if only I knew how to grow pumpkins or make fudge I probably would have haha..
I did my best to narrow down some of my favorites from the day – enjoy! Congrats to Kristin and Derek!!

Although to some this might be an odd backdrop - this is my favorite image of the day. There is something I love about the contrast of beautiful and new against something old and ugly.

Last but not least... so glad I pulled them away for this image while the sun was setting.
