Meet my amazing assisant/second shooter Robyn and her fiance Bobby! Robyn has been a lifesaver to me this year as I was searching for someone to be my second set of eyes at weddings. However, this time she was in front of the camera! We started out at Lincoln Park and made a quick stop at the LaSalle Bridge before heading out by the Planetarium for skyline photos.
I can’t wait for their wedding in August and I’m honored to be able to capture it….. although I’m going to have to find someone to assist me since I think she’ll be a little busy!
So it turns out there is just a little bit of traffic on the LaSalle bridge during rush hour on a Friday haha… we did our best to work around it
Meet Sean! I don’t want to brag, but he’s kind of a big deal. Just a few weeks ago he helped the Columbus East football team win a state championship! Congrats to the Olympians on their victory!
You may recoginze him from previous family sessions as well. We started off the shoot with the whole family since miss Harper is a new addition! We expolored Mill Race Park and downtown Columbus before finishing up on the football field.
Here are some of my favorites from the session!
The family part of the session just wouldn’t be complete without a photo of Patrick up side down… I think we have a similar photo from previous sessions!
Thanks to Sean’s Mom Amy for being my lighting assistant on these next few shots!
Off to the Football Field!
You may remember Morgan and Mike from their Madison, IN engagement session (you can see that HERE). After our semi rainy esession I was hoping for sunshine and blue skies for their wedding day, but mother nature had other ideas. It was rain, rain and more rain the entire morning of the wedding. It was starting to look like their outdoor ceremony may not happen, but about 90 minutes pre ceremony the rain stopped and out came the sunshine!!!
This wedding was filled with so many personalized touches from the gifts they gave each other and their parents to the bobble head cake toppers. Before I even arrived I felt like family. There was so much love and joy surrounding this day for both families that it could hardly be contained.
We were able to explore the grounds when the rain stopped there wasn’t a bad spot for photos! All the leaves were turning colors which made for the perfect backdrop. (Sidenote: Sorry and thank you to the catering company and the gentleman in the RV who I asked to move so that I could secure the giant tree out back for photos…. You can see below why I was so excited about those big trees! ). And Morgan’s arrival to the ceremony by horse and carriage was the best entrance I’ve seen all year!
As if the rain wasn’t enough, the temperatures starting dropping drastically as we headed into dinner in the tent outside. I always tell my couples that no matter how much you plan something will always happen that you don’t plan for…. and unfortunately in this case it was that the heat in the tent stopped working which meant moving a 200 person wedding into an 80ish person room inside. I already knew that Diane and her team were amazing but they handled the situation without flinching. And Morgan and Mike were cool as cucumbers when plans had to be changed. We did cake cutting and toasts outside while the transition happened and then danced the night away inside!
Here are some of my favorites from their wedding. Congrats again to Morgan and Mike!

I was obsessed with this round window 🙂
The girls braved the drizzle for me for some outside shots… I know they were freezing so I can’t think them enough!!! And a big thanks to Morgan’s Mom Christine for her umbrella skills!
Almost time for the ceremony! The blue sky started peeking through the clouds!
I LOVE this photo…. for just a second the sun broke through the clouds shined right on Morgan’s face.
She just has such a look of peacefulness on her face as she glanced up at the sky.
They took a lap in the horse and carriage post ceremony and with all the cameras on them the only natural reaction is to wave to the crowd !
This is why I was hardcore guarding these trees to make sure no one parked under them 🙂
Time for the reception! Love their personalized bobbleheads as cake toppers!
We snuck out for a few quick photos at sunset.
And then things got a little crazy as everyone tried to move inside to stay warm. We continued with toasts and cake cutting on the deck.
There happened to a full moon that night so of couse we had to do a few night shots.
Then it was back inside to continue first dances and get the party started!
