Alyssa and Greg’s Wedding 5/7/11 Indianapolis, IN – part one

Well they always say when you worry about something so much it never happens – that was me before this wedding. With all the rain we’d been having I thought for sure there was no way I would be able to avoid it for pictures. I packed rain gear, and brought my cute umbrellas and started a shot list in my head for rainy day photos. If you had seen me on Friday you would have thought I was a crazy person ( I still wouldn’t rule that out) and what happened? No rain. Well I shouldn’t say no rain, there was some in the morning and when I left the reception it was pouring but someone we managed to stay dry during the day. Thank you mother nature 🙂

I would like to say that the above paragraph may have something to do with the fact that this was my first 2011 wedding. No matter how many I do I still butterflies and nerves. The day couldn’t have been better though. After meeting Alyssa for the first time awhile back I knew there would be no “Bridezilla” potential. She was cool as a cucumber all day. I would advise all brides to be as laid back as she was – it’s too late to stress about the small stuff and time to just enjoy the day.

I met the girls at The Vault in Beech Grove to get their hair done and then off to GORGEOUS St. Mary’s Church downtown followed by a rocking reception next door at the Rathskellar. I had an amazing time – enjoyed the mass especially after learning that Alyssa had once been the priest’s  trainer at the YMCA. Loved that I was able to grab the two of them aways and stroll down Mass Ave afterwards. Got to meet a rocking Polka band – Polka Motion. They even threw my name into a song … yep I’m kindof a big deal. All in the all the perfect wedding day.

Thank you to Alyssa, Greg and all your friends and family for allowing me to be a part of your day! This just part one – the post ceremony couple photos and reception will be up next!

I usually don’t use many vintagey (is that a word) actions or filters, but for some reason I really like it on this dress shot on the left …. hmmm….

And then it was time for photos with the guys…

And then it was on to the ceremony.

Stay tuned for part 2!!!

Nora and Makund- 8/7/10 : Anya Albonetti Photography

Well i’m super behind on blogging. I was going through my files and I came across this wedding I was a second shooter for in Michigan this past August. I had the pleasure to tag along with the lovely Anya Albonetti (click HERE for her website) to shoot this wedding. It was a gorgeous day, got to spend a little time at the beach and ate about 10 pounds of blueberries haha! Turns out we were in Mighigan during prime blueberry season and couldn’t resist stopping to pick some ourselves.

As a photographer you can never stop learning or pushing yourself to try new things. It was nice to step back for a change and watch how someone else works. Definitely learned a thing or two!

Here are a few of the images I shot while assisting her … enjoy!

First stop the salon…

And then it was off to the beach!

My favorite photo below 🙂

Anya doing some wedding party shots at the resort where the reception was held.

This was a rocking reception – they were still doing shots when we left….

And last but not least… me and anya picking blueberries 🙂

It’s a really good thing they don’t weigh you when you start picking and when you finish because i probably ate a pound just while i was picking haha…. Thanks Anya for letting me tag along and for my new found addition to fresh blueberries!
