Tasha and Joe : Wedding 6/25/11 – Indianapolis, IN

I was super pumped for this wedding for so long. I first met with Tasha and Joe over a year ago and instantly loved them – such sweet fun loving people. Even better is that I had shot a wedding years before at the church they were getting married at and I couldn’t wait to return.

I can’t say enough about how grateful I am that they allowed me plenty of time for photos with the two of them. They didn’t do a first look since the ceremony was fairly early (gotta love those catholic ceremonies!), but gave me more than enough time afterwards. We headed to downtown Beech Grove and walked around to a few different areas which allowed from some variety and so many shots of them that I loved it was hard to choose just a few for this blog post.

I know i’ve said it a million times, but if you’re a bride to be and you’re reading this please do yourself and your photographer a favor by scheduling in enough time for bride and groom portraits. Regardless of if you see each other beforehand or not. Yes you want the fun wedding party photos and shots of people dancing at the reception, but I gaurentee the most important images are the ones of just the two of you. Too often I see couples so rushed after the ceremony to get the 75 different family photos that they feel they HAVE to do that they miss out on precious time that could be used for creative shots of just the two of them….. ok rant over 🙂

Congrats to Tasha and Joe and thanks for letting me capture your day!

Ceremony: Holy Name, Beech Grove, IN

Reception: Knights of Columbus

Flowers: Steve’s Flower’s

Hair : Hairsnips Salon in Beech Grove, IN

They might hate me for this… but I couldn’t resist posting these…

And then it was off to the reception

And then onto some amazing dancing – this place was rocking all night. Including their tradition of the chicken dance hat, fake teeth for the Triller dance and a friend who rapped Baby got back…. amazing

And last but not least me with Tasha and Joe

Ashton and Jeff’s Wedding 6/11/11 – North Vernon, IN (part two)

Alright here is part 2! You can check out Part one HERE with all the getting ready photos and some of the formals. Enjoy!

After the ceremony we stopped down at the old caboose in the middle of town for some fun group shots before heading to the reception.

Loved the Hawaiian themed reception – lots of help with decorations from Grandma Ronita and Ashton’s mom made the awesome cake!

First dance as husband and wife 🙂

TIme for some dancing – If you know Ronita you know she hates having her picture taken….. looks like I snuck this one in 😉

Ring in the champagne? Why not? Actually really love this photo – good color 🙂

and last but not least – me with the bride and groom! Congrats!

Ashton and Jeff’s Wedding 6/11/11 – North Vernon, IN (part one)

Hmmm.. where to start… I realize it’s going to make me sound really old when I say that I can somewhat remember Ashton growing up. You see her grandmother, Ronita was our attendance officer in high school. She was always talking about her granddaughters and showing us photos of them. So in a way I feel like I’ve know Ashton for many years. I was thrilled when Mrs.Knarr contacted me about shooting her wedding.

I had a blast spending the day with everyone – such a wonderful family that all came together to make all the little details of the day so amazing.

Here are some of my favorites from the day … well part one at least. Props to Ashton and the girls for remaining calm and collected despite the super HOT room they were getting ready in.

Congrats to Ashton and Jeff!

Loved all the amazing details of the day – her shoes, the personalized touches in her bouquet, the photos of loved family members

I headed out with the guys for photos while the girls finished getting ready.

And then it was time for photos with the bride and her ladies 🙂

They decided to do a First look, which I LOVE! I know I’ve said it a million times but it’s makes the day so much easier and less stressful when you can get everything done before the ceremony. It let’s everyone get right into the reception and let’s you enjoy your cocktail hour etc. instead of worrying about making guests wait and having to rush through family photos in order to get out of the church. Because we were able to get everything done before while guests were heading to the reception we made a quick pit stop for some fun and more creative photos (that will be in the second post) that aren’t always possible without a first look….. ok rant over 🙂

Stay tuned for part 2 with the ceremony and reception!
