Chicagoland Dog Park Engagement Session : Kristen & Kyle 3/10/14

Meet Kristen and Kyle! Both are IU alumni so obviously they are amazing. Kristen and I had classes together back in the day so I was thrilled when she contacted me about shooting her engagement session.

We could not have picked a more perfect day as far as winter sessions go. With the brutally cold winter we’ve been having the thought of being outside for more than a few minutes is hard. We waited a couple of weeks in hopes of a warm up and got so lucky that the day we choose was in the 50’s! Thankfully we’ve had so much snow that the ground was still covered, but we didn’t have to bundle up near as much as normal.

They chose Prairie Wolf Dog Park in Lake Forest for their session. Since their two dogs, Cash and Paisley, won’t be present on the wedding day they wanted to include them in the engagement photos and this is their favorite spot to take them to play. It was a perfect little hidden gem with open areas for the dogs to run and trails into the trees that had barely been touched from the last snow.

An Intimate New Year’s Eve wedding at Disotto Enoteca – Karen + Alan : Chicago, IL 12/31/13

What a better way to end the year than with an amazing intmate wedding?! No better way!

I met Karen and Alan a couple weeks before the big day and I instantly loved them. I couldn’t wait for their wedding day where they would join their two families together. I me them and their 4 daughters at The Drake Hotel before heading to city hall for their ceremony. I’ve never seen marriage court so busy! It was wild in there, but we used the wait time to take some family photos upstairs with the beautiful architecture.

It was very very cold during the day, but they braved the winter crazyness for some outdoor photos.

After that we were joined by a few more family members for lunch at Disotto Enoteca.

Since it was New Year’s Eve they had all their decorations up for the party at The Drake so we took advantage!

And then it was a very quick stop at the LaSalle Bridge (like jump in and jump out of the limo quick)…. and very windy!

From there we headed to Millenium park where they went to a concert on their first date… still cold, but definitley less windy!

And then it was off to Disotto Enoteca!

Martha Stewart Wedding Party 2014

It’s that time of year again! This year the Martha Stewart Wedding Party was held at the GORGEOUS Ritz Charleston downtown Chicago.

Everywhere you looked were amazing tablescapes, yummy cakes and brides to be rocking out to the band!

Thank you to the team at Martha Stewart as well as Claudin Hanlin’s Wedding Library and Lovebird Events for putting on an amazing show.

We were doing a drawing at our table for a free engagement session and the winners are……… drumroll….. Jamie and Ray!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by my table and said hello. Thank you to my wonderful friend Mia for helping me out for the day.

I can’t wait for the 2014 wedding season to start! But in the mean time here is some inspiration for all the brides out there. I tried to grab some shots before the show got started and I don’t think these even do the event justice, but it will give you a little taste! I tried to remember all the vendors who are associated with each photos, but I apologize if I forgot anyone or got any of them wrong!
