Next up on the blog is Brooke and Mike’s downtown Indy wedding. I LOVED this wedding. There were so many little details and family elements incorporated into their big day. We had great weather for mid November and the ceremony was at the gorgeous St. John’s Church downtown. I used to go there for Easter service in my teens because we always had a volleyball tournament across the street at the convention center. I was thrilled when I found out this is where they were getting married because I knew how beautiful it was.
Below are some of my favorite images from the big day. Their wedding will also be featured on Modernly Wed’s blog in the upcoming months.
A big thanks to Brooke, Mike and their families for allowing me to be a part of your day. Everyone was so welcoming and a blast to work with!

Hey everyone! I’ve been holding on blogging this wedding because I know it’s going to be featured in the Feb/March issue of Bloom Magazine. But since the mag comes out soon I decided I couldn’t wait any longer 🙂
This wedding was so amazingly unique. I met the Groom via working with Cummins and I was thrilled when he contacted me , and even more thrilled when I heard the wedding was in Bloomington. Um, wedding in Bloomington in the fall – yes please! It’s always so gorgeous there in the fall so I knew I would be in for a treat.
The couple met while doing contra dance. If you’re not familiar with Contra dance the best way I can describe it is that it’s folkdance mixed with line dance with a caller and many moves that are way too complicated for me! haha. So naturally when it came time to plan their wedding they wanted to have Contra dancing at the reception which was pretty awesome. I’ve never seen so many people on the dance floor for so long. Everyone gave it try for at least a song or two.
Between the gorgeous fall weather, the great use of colors, the heartfelt toasts and the dancing it was an amazing night overall.
Thanks Chris and Juliet for letting me be a part of your big day! And if you’re in the Bloomington area be sure to pick up the Feb/March issue of Bloom to see their feature in the wedding guide!

After dinner guests moved to a different room for cake and toasts while they flipped the room to get ready for the dance. I’ve been to alot of wedding and these were some of the most heartfelt, sincere toasts I’ve heard – lot of love in the room!

Well I’ve already introduced you to Allie – my associate shooter for 2012, but I haven’t blogged her fabulous November wedding yet!
She married her high school sweetheart Clark on 11/11/11 in our hometown of North Vernon, In. I felt so blessed to be a part of Allie’s day – she was a gorgeous bride and it’s always nice to shoot in my hometown in the church I grew up in. PS the church looks AMAZING with all the updates and restorations that they’ve done in the last year. I walked in and thought I was in the wrong place haha.
Below are some of my favorites – so hard to choose! Another thanks to Allie’s cousin and my friend Emily for her hard work on the flowers and a thank you to everyone who made the reception hall look amazing as well!

Since Allie has been on the wedding scene while shooting as an assistant with me it should be no surprise that she chose to do a First Look.
It’s always less stressful to get everything out of the way pre-ceremony and in mid November on a Friday it was dark by about 6. If we had waited until after the ceremony for photos it would have been pitch black for all of them. Just a lesson for future brides getting married later in the year!
