You may remember Mary and Kepha from their winter engagement session in downtown Chicago (you can see that HERE). I couldn’t wait for their September wedding and warmer weather! They got married at the gorgeous St. Clement church that I actually live across the street from, but haven’t shot at yet so it was nice to finally shoot there!
We almost didn’t make it to the church in time though! I always tell couples you can plan and plan and some things will happen that are just out of your control. In this case it was some idiot who had parked in a no parking zone making it impossible for our limo to make the turn we needed to get to the church. I seriously thought we were all going to have to get out walk the last few blocks but somehow with some serious manuvering we made it! With about 2 mintues to spare! At the time it was not amusing, but now it makes for a memorable moment of the day!
We were able to spend some time in the city for photos between the ceremony and reception with stops at Lincoln Park, Olive Park and downtown at City front Plaza near where we shot their engagement session. From there it was off to Spiaggia for their reception. There were some great toasts that made for laughter and tears during the amazing meal that Spiaggia is so well known for. After dinner everyone hit the dance floor and were still going strong when we left!
Congratulations again to the new Mr. and Mrs! Here are some of my favorites from their day!

Meet Don and Michelle! I have to say that I’m a little biased when it comes to this session because I love these two and knew them both before they started dating so it was one of my favorites!
Naturally when they got together I was thrilled 🙂 And I was even more thrilled when they got engaged and asked me to be their photographer! I met up with them in their neighborhood of Boystown for some photos before heading to Lincoln Park and Buckingham Fountain. We wanted to make sure we got some iconic Chicago shots as they will be moving to Virgina next month (boo!!!). I still love you though but you better come visit!
Here are some of my favorites! I can’t wait for their wedding in May!
What is better than one wedding? Why 2 of course! You may remember Dena and Poonam from their city hall wedding back in April (if you missed that you can see it HERE). We had a blast shooting in Chicago that day and I couldn’t wait until their party in Michigan.
Dena and Poonam are perfect examples of my theory that weddings just don’t have to be so stressful! They are so laid back and their wedding day reflected them 100%.
I met them at the house they were getting ready at near the distillery for some detail shots and getting ready photos. Usually when I walk into a getting ready room there is complete chaos happening, there are clothes and people everywhere and waves of hairspray! It was a refreshing change to walk into complete calm. They ate lunch, played music, laughed and at some point the words “So should be get dressed now?” were spoken. The perfect wedding morning if you ask me!
After the sari ninjas (aka Poonam’s aunts) came over and worked their magic it was a short walk over to the distillery to get the festivites started. Family photos followed by greeting guests and sipping cocktails all happened before their sunset ceremony. Dena’s brother officiated and I love the integration of cultures and families into the ceremony.
After the “I do’s” it was on to dinner, a slideshow and dancing the night away!
Congratulations and thank you again to Dena and Poonam for allowing me to be a part of both days!
Here are some of my favorites!

Time for the ceremony to start!
After dinner they played a slideshow of photos taken during their relationship.
