It’s always an honor when your friends ask you to capture their wedding day and from the moment I met with Michelle about shooting I knew it would be a blast. It helps when you literally know everyone in the wedding party! The few people I didn’t know before I met during her bachelorette trip to Vegas so by the time the wedding rolled around it was nothing but familiar faces! One of those being my handsome boyfriend who was a groomsmen and has been friends with Don for years.
They got married outside under a gorgeous Chuppah. They had a private moment with their parents where they came up and gave their blessing that I haven’t seen before and was very touching. Luckily the weather agreed with us and we had a gorgeous day for photos! From there it was off to the reception where they opted to do “East Coast Style” which I love, but I had to explain to all our Midwest friends haha. It gets people up moving on the dance floor before dinner and I’m all for that!
Congrats to Don and Michelle!! Here are some of my favorites !

I was so excited about this wedding for a number of reasons! For starters I knew it would be a blast because Kristen & Pat so so much fun. It was also the start of the wedding season which is always awesome. We could not have had more perfect weather and picture perfect backgrounds.
We started the day out at Hotel Artista for getting ready. It’s so nice that they have a salon on site so no travel needed! We did first look up on the terrace before heading on the party bus for pictures at Cantigy Park. I could shoot there all day long. It’s always gorgeous and we had some great colors and blooms that day!
We returned to the hotel for their amazing romantic candle lit ceremony and reception before dancing the night away!!
Thank you so much to the new Mr. and Mrs. for allowing up to capture your day!

I love a good winter session! Winter is a large part of living in Chicago so why no embrace it?! It was around freezing the day of this session which oddly was warmer than it had been in weeks so I was happy! I met Jayd and Kris at Lincoln Park and we went exploring! I love this park no matter what time of the year. There is a good view and even when not in bloom it’s a pretty area with tall grasses and the semi frozen pond.
