Meet Emily & Joe! I went to college with Emily’s brother Ben so I was thrilled when he reached out to me about shooting his sister’s wedding in Chicago (Thanks Ben! ). I had a chance to meet them at Indie Wed and was so excited when they booked me!
We started the day out at Emily’s parent’s house for getting ready, first look, a blessing and tea ceremony. From there we headed to Chinatown to Ping Tom park for photos before their ceremony (my new favorite photo spot!). Glessner House Museum has such an amazing history and beautiful courtyard space for ceremonies. It doesn’t hurt that it’s next door to Women’s Park which I love as well. Guests were able to enjoy the space after the ceremony with a short cocktail hour before heading to Phoenix restaurant for dinner. And boy did we have dinner! We don’t always get to eat what the guests are eating, but in this case Emily and Joe were kind enough to include us in the meal and we were stuffed!
Congrats to Emily and Joe and thank you again for allowing us to be a part of your day!

I fell in love with these two from the moment I met them. And they fell in love with each other many many years ago. If I’m remembering correctly from one of the speeches it was 3rd or 4th grade when Stefanie decided Chris was the one?!I think I laughed harder during our consultation than ever before so needless to say I knew the wedding was going to be a great time!
I met the ladies at Stef’s parents house for some getting ready photos complete with shots of her two cats:) From there it was onto the ceremony and then party time! This wedding party was a blast! They partied the night away complete with some CO2 on the dance floor!
Congrats again to Stef and Chris and thank you for letting me capture your day!

Mother Nature was not my friend in June. We got so much rain that I was starting to go crazy rescheduling shoots. Luckily we only had one reschedule for Lora and Steve’s session! They toughed out the drizzle and rain on our second date as we shot in between downpours.
We started out at the Northwestern Campus downtown where they are both are in Medical School. There is a gorgeous little courtyard there that we took advantage of and stayed close to the building so when the next downpour came (and it certainly did) we could run inside.
After waiting out some rain we made a run for it to get a few shots in at Olive Park. You can see the dark storm clouds rolling in on our last few shots and the wind really started to pick up! We hightailed it out of there just in time to miss getting drenched!
Fingers crossed for a drier day for their 2016 Wedding! Here are some of my favorites!
