Meet Jenn & Alex! I was so excited for this session for a number of reasons. One – I got to see my old friend from college, Alex and finally meet his amazing fiance! Two – I got to fly down to Dallas for it and shoot in a new city! Three – Sunday was my birthday so my sister came up from Houston to celebrate with me!
Because I had a wedding the night before I flew in the morning of the shoot and basically dropped by bags and went to meet Jenn and Alex at their condo. We started the session in their neighborhood, the Design District. It has some awesome little restaurants and coffee shops as well as colorful and funky buildings. We stopped in as Ascension coffee for a drink and they told me all about how they met and their first date. I always love sessions that are relaxed like this. It really helps people be themselves in front of the camera and are way more representative of the couple than going to a random tourist spot! From there we did a quick change and headed down the street to this fun blue tiled building that Alex had sent me photos of and I immediately said yes we are stopping there!
We ended with a trip to the new bridge over the Trinity River with a great skyline view at sunset. Texas never disappoints when it comes to amazing sunsets! I love that they incorporated their favorites sports as Alex was a volleyball player (that’s how we met back in the day at IU! ) and Jenn was a swimmer. Note they switched roles for some photos!
Thank you to Jenn & Alex for letting me explore Dallas with you! I can’t wait for November!
Meet Lori & Fred! I can’t wait for their June wedding! In the meantime here are some of my favorites from their engagement session.
We started out at Lincoln Park for some gorgeous fall colors and skyline views. After a quick outfit change we headed downtown to Milennium Park to the spot where Fred proposed. Lori really wanted some photos with the skyline lit up so we strolled over to the new Maggie Daley Park as the sun was setting to get a few nighttime photos in the city!
Enjoy!
If ever there was a couple whose love and laughter was contagious, it’s these two! I met Kassie & Corey at Olive Park on a lovely fall day at the end of October. The leaves on the trees were still sporting spectacular color and despite a brief round of sprinkles it was the perfect evening!
These two are so in love and it shows! They were laughing and smiling the entire session, which makes my job so easy! We roamed around the park and took advantage of the skyline and one of the last great days of fall.
Thank you to Kassie & Corey for spending the evening with me! Here are some of my favorites!
