Olive Park Engagement: Liz + Greg 2/20/16

Remember those freak couple of days this winter when it was 60 degrees?! Well we took advantage and snuck in a “winter” engagement session at Olive Park!

I can’t for these two to get married next weekend! They are so much fun to be around and nothing but smiles and laughter. Here are a few of my favorites from our session!

Chicago Proposal : Jackie + Brian 1/16/16

When Brian contacted me about shooting his surprise proposal to Jackie I was so excited! I’ve been dying to shoot a proposal for awhile now and it finally happened!

I met him the weekend before to scout out the perfect location along the 606 trail near where they live. On the morning of I got there way too early as I think I might have been more nervous than Brian (ok probably not, but I was seriously anxious!). He was texting me updates on when they were leaving their place so I had a few minutes heads up. Jackie thought they were meeting their friends for a quick walk with their baby along the trail before heading to brunch.

Although there isn’t a lot of area to hide in along there I tried to keep my cameras tucked away under my layers of clothing (it was only about 20 degrees) until they got to the spot and then raced to hide behind some recycling bins. I figured once he got down on one knee Jackie wouldn’t be looking at anything else going on!

She was so surprised and of course said yes! I grabbed a few photos with them after and then sent them off to celebrate!

Thank you for letting me on the proposal and congrats again!

This is where Brian pointed me out creeping in the distance haha!

Winter Wedding at Danada House : Liz + Ted 12/11/15

Meet Liz & Ted! Liz and I played on a volleyball team together here in Chicago a couple years back and I remember her talking about this wonderful guys she met named Ted. Ted lives in Virgina so it was long distance for a long time! Hello frequent flyer miles!

When I saw that they had gotten engaged I was so happy for her despite the fact she’d be leaving Chicago. And I was even more excited when she contacted me about shooting their winter wedding!

They married in the church Liz attends and had their reception at the gorgeous Danada House in Wheaton. They chose to have just a best man and maid of honor for their wedding party which kept things nice and intimate. Although this was a December wedding it was almost 50 degrees! I have no complaints as we were able to do some outdoor photos without freezing!

After their ceremony in which Liz’s dad married them we headed out to Danada House. The reception room was a gorgeous mix of reds and whites provided by Kio Kreations.  I love the added touch of 2 extra cakes with their favorite sports teams!

After a toast, cake and some dancing we snuck out for a few night photos with all the Christmas lights that were up outside. The dance floor was still rocking when we left! Congrats to Liz & Ted!

Ceremony Venue : St. John’s Luthern Church

Reception Venue: Danada House

Florist: Kio Kreations
Videography: Plan A Studios
