I learned three things at this wedding : 1) Kathryn & Giacomo are probably two of the nicest people I’ve ever met and thankfully rolled with the punches that mother nature gave us, 2) I’m short… like really short (scroll to the end to see the photo of me and them!) and 3) I’m still terrified of heights, but apparently if there is a chance of a cool photos I will climb a few flights up a wet fire escape in the dark for a shot!
Despite on and off rain all day we had a great time! They married at Holy Name which is a gorgeous church and also the first church I ever shot a wedding at in Chicago so it was nice to be back. It of course started raining as soon as we got in the limo for photos after the ceremony. They braved a couple with umbrellas before we had to tuck inside the chocolate store for cover! Luckily it cleared up after a little bit after we had found cover and we were able to get some great shots on the bridge.
They had to move cocktail hour inside which is a major bummer with the gorgeous courtyard space Ivy Room has. Luckily we got a few photos there and snuck back out at night for a few while the guests danced the night away!
Congrats to the newlyweds! Here are some of my favorites!

Welcome to the day I died and went to flower heaven!!
I first met Molly and her mom for coffee over the holidays and instantly fell in love with them. They were friends of previous clients of mine that I loved so I knew they would be my kind of people! When she told me they where getting married at a flower farm I was super excited, but I don’t think I was quite ready for all the gorgeousness that was to come on the wedding day.
Somehow in between me going “Oh look at this pretty flower” “Did you see this one? ” ” I think this is my favorite, no wait this one is.. ” I managed to actually shoot the wedding! I love a good laid back and fun wedding day. They only had a best man and a maid of honor for their wedding party which immediately takes a lot of the stress away when you don’t have to juggle a lot of people around. I don’t think I’ve laughed so much at a wedding in a long time! We hung out at the house while the girls got ready and did some photos before the ceremony.
In case the flower overload wasn’t enough to make me creepily smile behind my camera all day there was also an amazing old barn on the property. We snuck up to the attic after the ceremony and the sun was perfectly coming through the slats. At this point I was probably smiling like a kid that just woke up on Christmas morning haha. Thankfully only Molly & Jake saw that!
They danced the night away with friends and family! It was the perfect day! Congrats to the newlyweds!
PS – Sorry I’m not sorry about the massive amount of flower photos in this post. Deal with it : )

Molly, her sister and mom all had the matching bracelets you see in the right image. It is Dad’s signature of their last name:)
I couldn’t resist a group photo with all my previous couples who were at this wedding!
I couldn’t have imagined a better way to kick off 2016 than with Lora & Steve’s gorgeous wedding at The Langham Chicago. Not only are they are super fun and sweet couple, but the venue was amazing and I got to work with some of my favorite vendors!
The great thing about doing everything in one location is there was no worry about how to get everyone from place to place or where to go for photos. We literally had to step outside for awesome views of the river and downtown. We took full advantage with some photos before the ceremony and some solo time after with just the bride and groom.
Below are some of my favorites from their day. And of course we had to include the pink Langham taxi in some!
