Michigan Shores Club Wedding: Corey + Brian 9/26/15

You may remember Corey & Brian from their winter engagement session (you can see that HERE). It was cold and freezing and snow covered. Their wedding day was the exact opposite! It was bright and sunny and full of color!

My second shooter Sami and I met up at the Michigan Shores Club in Wilmette a little early so we could scout the area. We walked down the hill to the beach along Lake Michigan and I instantly fell in love. It was a bright blue sky day and all along the beach were colorful canoes lined up. It was color overload!! I couldn’t wait to my couple down there!!

After a first look we took the wedding party to a nearby park and then down to the beach for photos. On the walk back the sun was so beautifully lighting the stairs I had to stop them for some additional shots.

They had a beautiful ceremony inside the club which was then transformed into part of the reception room while guests enjoyed cocktail hour. There were some great hearfelt toasts before Corey & Brian busted out their choreographed first dance! When we left the dance floor was still packed!

Congrats again to Corey, Brian and your family and friends for letting us capture your day!

Women’s Club of Evanston Wedding : Becky and Patty 9/6/15

Meet Becky and Patty! From the moment I met them I knew I wanted to shoot this wedding. I’m pretty sure I teared up in our first meeting haha. They have been together for 25 years!! Now that it’s finally legal for everyone to get married they decided to make it “official” this year with about 40 of their closest friends and family as guests.

I love a good laid back wedding! This day fit them perfectly. The Women’s Club of Evanston is a gorgeous space with one room more beautiful than the next. We did a few portraits outside before their guests arrived. I love that they were there to mingle and greet them all before the ceremony. It was an emotional one! Spoiler alter – I cried again. When I got in my car to leave I realized I had mascara all over haha. Their nephew played music throughout the day and their vows were heartfelt, funny and unique.

After the ceremony they gathered in the side room for refreshments and photos while the room was flipped for lunch with their guests. Sarah with Four Finches created the most beautiful arrangements! Wait until you see their sweetheart table!! I left them to dance the afternoon away!

Thank you to Becky and Patty for allowing me to be a part of your day! Congratulations!

Lincoln Park & Stonegate Wedding: Ashley + David – 9/12/15

I was so excited for this wedding day to arrive! After shooting engagement photos with Ashley and David (see those HERE) the fall before and meeting up a couple times to finalize things they felt more like friends than clients! From day one Ashley had told me she wanted a fall wedding because she loves all things fall and I’d say got it!

The couple married on a gorgeous September day in Lincoln Park. They hired a couple people I recommended so I knew it was going to be fun day working with friends! We made a couple photo stops in the city before heading out to the reception at The Stonegate. I have to take a second to praise the staff there as they were fantastic to work with. Thank you!

The reception room was a gorgeous mix of fall reds and oranges. And our friends at Luxe Productions nailed the uplighting to tie it all together. They decided to do an “east coast style” reception which means dancing before dinner. I love it when people do this as it breaks things up a bit and gets people up and moving!

We snuck out for some sunset photos before dancing the night way! Thank you so much to Ashley, David and their families for having us! Congrats again!
