Yesterday I had a the amazing opportunity to work with other volunteers for Help-portrait day in Indianapolis. We set up at HVAF downtown and did free portraits for anyone who showed up. It was a great day, met lots of great people who helped with the event – photographers, videographers, hair and make-up artists etc. It was amazing to hear the stories of some of the people we photographed. Some hadn’t had their pictures taken in 10 or more years. Some had braved the freezing cold to walk miles to have their picture done.
I don’t have words to explain how truly amazing this experience was. I am blessed to be able to do what I love and to be able to give that gift back. Hopefully the photos will help brighten the Christmas season for these folks and their families. If anyone wants more info on the event or how it came to be you can check out http://www.help-portrait.com.

Here’s a shot of all the volunteers from the day. Thanks Andrew and John for the photo! It was great working with everyone!

Thanks to Rachel Stark for the awesome article and April Knox for the great pictures – even though I was a little leary of being in front of the camera.
Here is the cover:

Thanks to everyone who came out for my opening reception on Friday – I’m blessed to have such amazing friends and family. The show is up through September if you didn’t get to make and want to stop by to see it. I will also be featured in She Magazine in September – so stayed tuned for that. Here are a couple pictures from the evening.
