Over the years I’ve had people ask me if I offer mentorships, take interns, do workshops or if they could tag along to a wedding etc. While I’ve always tried to help when I could, I promised myself that I wouldn’t offer any of those things until I had been doing this for ten years. It’s hard to believe, but that time has come.

I’m still learning and growing every day. I don’t have all the answers. I’ll never have all the answers. And anyone who tells you that they do is lying.

I have, however, learned many things over the last decade of being a wedding photographer. It’s not all pretty dresses and wedding cake. Running your own business is very hard work. You have to wear all the hats, especially in the beginning. In addition to taking photos you need to edit, blog, return emails, have contracts, do social media, design a website, pay taxes, get the proper licensing, deal with clients’ expectations, have meetings, design albums etc etc.

So I’m happy to announce that I will be offering 1 on 1 sessions for other photographers! Whether you’re just starting out or have been doing this for years and feel like you’re stuck in a rut and need some help getting out, I’m here!

These can either be in person (if you’re in the Chicago area), or via phone or Skype. I’m happy to answer any questions, give feedback on your website or portfolio, or just talk in general about your business. I am not a lawyer, nor have I ever claimed to be, so I can’t give any legal advice. But I can point you in the direction of those who can.

What’s included? Once you book we’ll set up a time and date and I will pass along a questionnaire that will help me get a better feel for your business and what issues you might be having. You can include any things you’d like help with during our consultation. The session will be one hour (ish) with a follow up 30 minute call or Skype the following month to see how things are going.

The sessions will be $400. If there is interest in a workshop I will consider that as an option for later in 2018!
