“To Travel is to Live” – Hans Christian Andersen
There is something about traveling that changes you. It changes the way you see the world. It opens your eyes to new places, new people, new cultures and new experiences. And those experiences shape you forever. I love the quote above by Han Christian Andersen because it’s so true, yet so simple. If we stay in our own little bubble of the planet, are we really living? There is so much out there to explore and I’ve only seen a fraction of it!
Even within the US there is such a wide variety of landscapes. I’ve been to the majority of states, but I still have a few to cross of my list! And even then some states are so large that one trip just doesn’t allow enough time to explore all the places I want to go! Not to mention everything outside of the US!
As a photographer I’m always looking for new adventures and backdrops. In my dream world I’d shoot a wedding in every state and every country, but I know that’s probably not realistic (at least the every country part). But I’d like to hit as many as possible! So no matter where you are getting married I’m available (assuming it’s legal for me to photograph there). Especially if it’s in New Zealand as I’m pretty sure I want meant to live there after I visited in 2016.
Living in a major US city like Chicago with two airports basically makes me a flight away from anywhere in the country. I have discounted travel rates for NYC, Houston and Denver as I have friends and family living in those areas that I am always looking for an excuse to visit!
Below are some photos of my travels over the years. A couple are just iphone photos, so please excuse the quality. Enjoy!
