Meet Lauren and Jordan! If they look familiar it’s because you may remember them from Lauren’s sister’s wedding I did last November (you can see that HERE).
I was thrilled when they contacted me about shooting their wedding. I love it when I get to see familiar faces and work with such wonderful families multiple times. We met up in Seymour and headed out to her aunt’s property for the session. Nothing beats a session with a barn, a photobombing from a horse and giant LOVE letters!
Here are some of my favorites from the session. I can’t wait for their September wedding. Hard to believe we’re only a few weeks away!
And then Rocket decided to make an appearance 🙂
My favorite shot is below 🙂
What a southern indiana shoot on a farm without a cornfield?
This session was the best way to finish up the month of June. It was such a rainy rainy month and we finally got an amazing rain free perfect evening for their shoot.
I first met Melissa and Matt at the Martha Stewart show I did back in March. When we talked about their session they wanted to hit a couple of their favorite Chicago spots including Buckingham Fountain where Matt proposed. We started out at Lincoln Park and worked our way downtown. I definitely wanted night shots at the fountain and I LOVE the results we got! It was great getting to know them a little better before the big day!
Here are a few of my favorites. I can’t wait for their wedding next summer!
This gorgeous golden light is exactly why I like to shoot sessions in the hour leading into sunset!
Next stop was the Chicago stop on the Brown Line. What’s more Chicago than the L? So you can’t actually shoot up on the platforms or near the tracks, but I still loved this photo stop.
Last stop was Buckingham Foutain. We took some shots when we arrived and then had to wait out the sun a bit to get the right balance of sky and buildings set up. This session was right after the Hawks won the Stanley cup so you can see in some of the wider shots the buildings have writing on them with lights about the cup (Stanley is back, go hawks go)!
Below is my favorite from the session and one of my all time favorites as well 🙂
Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE shooting weekday weddings? So much so that I’m working on a new site strictly for elopements and weekday weddings? (www.elopetochicago.com)…the site is still a work in progress.
So when Alexis contacted me about shooting their Monday wedding I was thrilled. They were having the ceremony at City Hall and then wanted some great photos around the city. They chose the date because it was their anniversary (love that!) and then jetted off for a sun soaked beach honeymoon.
There was a 70% chance of rain during the time we were looking to shoot… 70 PERCENT?! Guess what – it didn’t rain a drop. This is why I never trust the weather channel! We got soooo lucky that it stayed just north of us the entire time 🙂 Thanks mother nature for not making me go to a back up plan!
If you are getting married at city hall or having a small weekday wedding contact me ASAP. I’m still looking for a couple more weddings to feature when the site goes live!
Congrats to Alexis and Bob!
Of course we had to head to my favorite bridge (LaSalle) since it’s just a couple blocks from City Hall.
Next stop was Millenium Park. They decided to rent a car for the day which was the best move ever! It was so nice to not to have to flag down cabs, have her walk in her heels or worry about downtown parking. I highly recommend this to my couples!
Next stop Planetarium for some gorgeous skyline shots!
Last stop Union Station!
