You may remember this wonderful couple from their engagement session in Chicago this spring . They are both amazing people so I knew that the wedding was going to be a blast.
They choose to get married at The Mavris in Indianapolis which is a gorgeous lofty venue that I’ve been looking forward to shooting at forever. The small ceremony was held in the outdoor garden with just family present. Ali is from Mauritania so unfortunately a lot of his family couldn’t be there for the big day, but thanks to the wonderful world of technology they were able to watch via Skype!
The rest of their friends and family were invited to help them celebrate later that evening at the reception. It was awesome for me to see many familiar faces from IU and get to catch up with some of my volleyball girls that I hadn’t seen in years.
Congrats to Barb and Ali and thank you again for allowing me to be a part of your day!

Love the cufflinks! This is the flag of Mauritania!
I LOVE it when my couples do a first look 🙂
Ceremony time!
Then we headed down to the canal for photos on the Mustache Ride buses….
So this was happening as we were taking photos…. pretty sure that’s not a good thing haha…. luckily we made it back to the Mavris despite the smoking/overheating.
Had to get a pic with all the IU volleyball girls!
Had to sneak in a couple nights shots
It seemed only fitting that since Matt proposed on Tisha’s birthday that she would marry him on his birthday!
When I first spoke with Tisha I loved that they were planning such a small sweet affair with their families. I was honored to be a part of it.
We started the day at City Hall where they “officially ” married in front of 10 or so family members. From there we made a couple photo stops before heading to Nightwood restaurant for their reception and ring ceremony. Tisha’s dad did a wonderful job of providing wisdom as the two said their vows and exchanged rings in a more personal ceremony at the restaurant.
We followed that up with an AMAZING dinner. Seriously you need to check this place out – http://www.nightwoodrestaurant.com/.
Thank you to Tisha and Matt for letting me be a part of your day and to both of your families for welcoming me with open arms!
Here are some of my favorites!
We had a little bit of a wait at City Hall, but it provided some good time for story telling!
Because we had a few people with us the judge held the ceremony in the waiting room so we didn’t have to cram into her office.
Of course I couldn’t resist a stop at my favorite bridge since we were just a couple blocks away.
Then we piled in the limo to head to Women’s Park…. a hidden little gem 🙂
From there we headed over to Nightwood Restaurant for their ring exchange and dinner!
I told you the food was delicious… I mean just look at this!! During dinner I learned that I should probably let Matt and his family choose all the restaurants I need to eat at in Chicago because their food knowledge puts me to shame!
Matt’s Sister and Tisha’s Brother also gave toasts during dinner.
You’ve probably seen these adorable faces on the blog before. I had the pleasure of shooting Tanner when he was just a couple weeks old when we did family photos last fall.
It’s hard to belive he’s already one! I met them at Mill Race Park in Columbus for some photos of the boys followed by a cake smash! I have to say Tanner was one of my best cake smashes to date. You never know what they will do and he just got right in there.
Enjoy some of my favorites of these cuties!
CAKE TIME!!! Love this matching diaper cover, tie, hat set that mom got off Etsy!
Oh no, did I get something on my tie?
