Meet Kristy and Josh! They were the winners of the engagement session giveaway I did for the Bridal Mile in Lisle.
I met them near Solider Field for their engagement session as Josh is a big Bears fan….. although I’m not sure how he ended up with a Packers fan!
We did some fun shots with their jerseys before heading over the lake for skyline photos and a few at Buckingham Fountain. Thanks to Kristy and Josh for spending the afternoon with me and congratulations on your engagement!
As I’m sure you all know I LOVE when I get to shoot a wedding in Bloomington and this was no exception. When Carrie first contacted me about her wedding at Four Winds all I could remember was the last time Allie and I shot there (see that blog HERE) and what a crazy day it was. I was looking forward to redeeming ourselves!
We had a gorgeous fall day for their outdoor ceremony and reception. They choose to do a first look (yah!) so that we were able to go to campus and take photos before the ceremony and avoided a huge gap of time in between. With a beautiful blue sky and Lake Monroe as their backdrop it was picturesque to say the least. As always the staff at Four Winds was great and the reception got rocking right away.
I do think we are cursed at this location though ….. as we were packing up our gear all the power went out ….. and I started having deja vu from the last wedding haha. I’m starting to think it’s me!! Luckily (at least from what I hear) the backup generator kicked in shortly and the drinks kept flowing so the crisis was averted!
Congratulations again to Carrie and Ben! Here are some of my favorites from their day!

They got custom Chuck’s for their reception shoes! Super cute!
First look time !
And then it was off to campus!!! HOO- HOO- HOO- HOOSIERS… sorry it’s habit 🙂
What’s a Bloomington wedding without a stop at Nick’s?
And then it was back to Four Winds for family photos and the ceremony 🙂
The kids in this wedding were like cuteness overload!
Time for a footwear change!
Meet Ryan and Maryna! I’ve had the pleasure of knowing these two adorable people for a couple of years now and I was thrilled when they got engaged.
I loved that they arrived to the session on their bikes since I know they love to go for rides together. We explored Lincoln Park before walking over to North Avenue Beach. The final stop was Buckingham Fountain for some night shots. I could photograph these two all day! They are too cute together and ridiculously photogenic…. I have a rough job haha.
I can’t wait for their wedding in May! In the meantime her are some of my favorites!
This one was a happy accident. Focusing in the dark can be a challenge and obviously this one was off, but I actually like the result of the city in focus and them not 🙂
Rebecca West - Just gorgeous pictures. Thank you so much!
